Canary Wharf Chilli Giveaway

Chillies

We will be giving away chilli starter packs which included – seeds, soil, pot, planter measurer and recipe for once you have grown your chillies.

Come and find us at Jubilee Place Crossroads and Canada Square Crossroads this morning and during lunch time. Look out for some brightly coloured barrels…

For when you’ve got your chilli starter kit we offer a chilli tutorial on the blog, a surgery on Flickr and if you’re lucky we may even give you a Mexican recipe or two to make the most out of them.

I didn’t have a chance to get down to either of the Crossroads at lunch today – was this a one day only promotion or can I still pick up a chilli starter pack?

When you pop in just ask one of our team and we’ll see if we’ve got any left.

I have a bird’s eye chilli plant grown from seed right in my house. It produces more than I can use them. I dried the chillies and keep them for use later on. :)

I seemed to have missed your chilli starter pack. Is there any chance of me getting one today from your Canary Wharf branch?

I didn’t get a chilli starter kit when I visited on 7 Nov

If you pop in we should have a few left…

We got one!! There are green shoots – 30mm, we’re having a great chilli-off and are in the lead, following a successful germination process in the filing cabinet…

Great work Jo & Soph! Keep us up to date with how you’re doing and send us some pictures so we can post them up.

We have a photo… how do we send?!

Posted by Chili Spy on Nov 16, 2009 at 4:08 pm

Jo and Soph are telling fibs – their shoots are barely 20mm!

We currently have 6 chili plants which Jordan claimed joint custody of. I have them Mondays and Wednesdays whilst Jordan has them Tuesdays and Thursdays and every other Friday. The Weekends the kids are home alone to fend for themselves. currently they are 2inches tall and their names are:
Pedro, Demarcus, Juan, Enrique, Marquez and Estrella. What I want to know is should we split up this happy family and put them in two pots or will they thrive happily in one?

Posted by wahaca on Nov 17, 2009 at 5:28 pm

Hi Samantha and Jordan, it depends how big the pots are. Can you send in pictures? Six does sounds quite a lot for one pot! If you are going to split them up, it’s best to do it as soon as possible before the roots start to tangle – but make sure not to break the roots!!
